This project, developed under the mentorship of Dr. Anila Mjeda, Paul Healy, and Sean Donovan, highlights the practical applications of technology in healthcare.
The Best Concept Award went to a team of Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering students for their creation, HaloWave. HaloWave is a fall detection and prevention system that combines real-time monitoring with AI-driven predictive analytics. By identifying potential fall risks, it enables proactive staff intervention, enhancing patient safety in hospitals and hospices.
These awards not only recognize the creativity and potential of these student entrepreneurs but also highlight the importance of technology in addressing real-world challenges.
